Engineering Design Project

Dudley Designs & Technical Services have been involved in the design and build of all types  conveyor systems and special purpose machinery.

 

 

Pipework Design / Layout for a Sewage Treatment Works. The pipework was setout in 3D using SolidWorks to ensure there were no clashes with existing steelwork / pipework. Pipe Spools were then exported to AutoCad for detailing.

 

Technical Publications

Dudley Designs & Technical Services Limited assisted in the production of parts manuals for Westfield Sports Cars using the Adobe Illustrator and Pagemaker softwares along side various drawing / CAD packages.

Finite Element Analysis

This project involved the Design of a lifting arrangement for HMS Albion and Bulwark. The main objectives were to reduce material weight and increase the strength of the shackle and hook. This was achieved using a combination of SolidWorks and CosmosWorks.

The image shows the Principle tensile stress plot. The legend is suppressed at 862N/mm² so that all red areas are in excess of the minimum UTS for steel RQT701.

On this project Dudley Designs were asked to calculate the Fluid flow rate through a 3/4" shut off valve with a 14 bar pressure differential. Using the Fluid Flow Analysis software within the CosmosWorks package, Dudley Designs were able to produce the required results.
